“Europe moves (me)”
Connecting European Youth. Babenhausen. Bavaria. GermanyDate: 12.-19.4.2014
How and why does Europe move people? How can you move around Europe? Why should Europe move you? And why is it important that you move yourself and cast your vote in European Elections?
Why do people move wit hin Europe? And why do people move towards Europe? Questions such as these were discussed at a multinational seminar “Europe moves (me)” in Babenhausen on the Northwestern tip of Bavaria. Young people from Spain, Italy, Croatia, Munich and Babenhausen itself spent a week together exploring how the EU and its electoral system works. Organized by the Department of Education and Sports in the period from March through September, the project also featured a day trip to Strasbourg, including a visit to the European Parliament and a debate with Barbara Lochbihler.
This seminar was addressed to young people coming from Catalonia, Croatia and Munich in order to get to know each other and to learn how the European Union actually works.
Irenia, Peace Games was one of the partners of this project, led by the Council of Munich. Our colleagues Imma & Yorgos were in charge of part of the training program and accompanied the Catalan group of 10 students of a High School from Berga, introducing them to cross cultural communication and intercultural learning.
